Mobile Apps for Trucking Information

ABF, YRC and Pilot Flying J

Smartphones make life easier for everyday people, but what do smartphones and mobile apps do for truckers? Since a truck driver spends most of the time on the road, he or she requires smart apps that help organize and manage the business. Forget the average GPS app and video game; truckers want an app that gives them complete access to stats, finances and important information right in the palm of their hands.

From freight management to rate quotes, truckers have access to smartphone apps that increase their productivity on the road. Some of these apps include:

ABF Mobile – This app works for iOS 3.0 or later, and it gives the trucker a host of options such as shipment tracking and built-in reporting. The Rate Quotes feature offers pickup and delivery options, which include TimeKeeper expedited and time-definite. In addition, it uses GPS to find the nearest ABF location, and it provides ABF pick-up requests directly from the iPhone.

YRC Freight Mobile Tools – YRC Freight Mobile works for the iPhone iOS 3.2, Android Platform Version 2.1 and the Blackberry Version 4.6. With the YRC Freight Mobile app, truckers have access to the latest YRC Freight news. In addition, it keeps the trucker connected to YRC Freight by chat, email and one-button calling. YRC Freight Mobile includes ZIP Finder for finding out the ZIP code in the current city and state. Track YRC Freight shipments with ease, and gain access to any shipping document instantly.

MyPilot – Pilot Flying J’s new mobile app is available from the iPhone Store and Android Market. With it, truckers can instantly view the nearest Pilot Flying J location and use the Trip Planner to plot the stores from point A to B. In addition, it offers instant statistics such as total points, balances and rewards from the trucker’s Pilot Flying J account. The app compares fuel prices and grades between locations, and it offers access to social media, customer service and settings.

New smartphone apps give truckers the tools they need to stay informed while on the road. Whether it’s checking fuel prices or accessing shipping documents, these apps provide instant feedback and the information that truckers require to run their business.

New! Apex Clients can now download the Apex Mobile App to keep track of their account and find fuel discounts wherever they are!
