by Erika Nieman | December 29, 2015
As we wrap up 2015, we’re thinking about all the things that happened this year. We’ve looked back to see which stories our readers enjoyed most and we want to share the top posts with you.
#5 – Apex and Junior Achievement
In a story that’s close to our hearts here at Apex, Mayra Tavera, shares how a Junior Achievement volunteer in her classroom changed her life.
#4 – 34-hour Restart History
It seems like trucking regulations are always changing, so this year we started putting together timelines of the major developments in specific regulations throughout the years. It seems like a lot of you were curious about the history of the 34-hour restart too.
#3 – Interstate or Intrastate?
There’s a lot of details to keep track of in the trucking business. When we get some of the same questions from trucking professionals over and over, we figure a lot more of you have the same questions, like whether you’re hauling interstate or intrastate freight.
#2 – Proposed Hiring Standards
The second most popular story on our blog this year was a hot topic that happened just a couple of weeks ago. When the House and Senate were negotiating the long-term highway bill, a provision called the Interim Hiring Standard was included that would have hurt small trucking companies. Thankfully, that provision was not included in the final bill.
#1 – Trucking Movies
Apparently we all love movies! Our most popular post of 2015 was our list of the 10 most memorable trucks and truckers in the movies. The list has all our classic favorites. What are yours?
