Apex Well-O-Ween Makes Being Healthy at Halloween Fun
by Apex Capital | October 24, 2016
Halloween can be spooky fun, but chocolaty and sugary sweet treats around every corner can be a trick and lead to a scary number on the scale!
To help our employees maintain their health and wellness goals, while still enjoying the spookiest time of year, we host our annual Well-O-Ween Health Fair. We invite health and wellness partners from around the community to set up booths in our lobby. Employees then go ‘trick-or-treating’ at the booths to learn more about resources available to them. We also host a healthy treat contest and have spooky games and prizes.
Here’s the recipe for this this year’s winner of our healthy Halloween treat contest.
- 1 (15-ounce) can 100% pure pumpkin (not pie filling)
- 1 (6-serving) package instant sugar-free vanilla pudding mix
- 1/4 cup low-fat (1%) milk
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 cups frozen light whipped topping, thawed
- 2 gingersnap cookies, crushed
Directions: In a medium bowl, beat pumpkin, pudding mix, milk, and cinnamon until well blended. Fold in whipped topping until thoroughly blended then spoon into individual dessert glasses. Sprinkle with crushed ginger snaps. Cover loosely and chill until ready to serve.
As a Blue Zones Project Approved Worksite, the Well-O-Ween health fair is part of our Apex Wellness Program, which provides opportunities for Apex employees to stay well because we believe that great health positively affects business operations, employees, and families. We’re proud to be a company that places strong emphasis on health and wellness. That’s one of the reasons Apex is one of the best places to work in Texas!
