Apex and Junior Achievement
Since 2007, our company has been involved with Junior Achievement of the Chisholm Trail, a local chapter of the international organization which helps K-12 students plan for their economic success.
It all started with our Vice-President, Dean Tetirick, who served as a JA classroom volunteer in local Fort Worth schools. During his volunteering, he met Mayra (Ledesma) Tavera. He encouraged her to apply for a position at Apex and she was hired in the mail room. This opportunity started her a career and shaped her future.
Prior to Apex, Mayra was working at a fast food restaurant to provide income for her family. Her father was disabled and unable to work and her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, but she never gave up on her future. Through perseverance and her new opportunity at Apex, Mayra worked her way up in the company. Four and a half years later, she assists Apex clients as the receptionist and is working towards her college degree.

Apex Continues the Tradition
After such a positive experience as a classroom volunteer, Dean encouraged Apex employees to be classroom volunteers. Since the program started, several employees have volunteered in K-12 classrooms around Fort Worth.
Together, Apex and JA have created a great partnership because we both believe in making a difference in our community. We get the chance to make a difference through our Corporate Giving Program. Apex employees are encouraged to invest their hearts and time into the community by participating in fundraisers throughout the year which benefit Fort Worth organizations.
