Countdown to the ELD Mandate
by Mario Tarradell | October 1, 2017
The ELD mandate countdown has begun. The clock is ticking. There’s no turning back now. With barely three months left until the December 18, 2017 deadline for most commercial motor vehicles, owner-operators and trucking companies are about to enter the world of electronic logging devices to replace handwritten hours-of-service logs.
A recent bill to delay the ELD mandate for two years was voted down in Congress, so ELDs are for real now. We are here for our valued Apex clients with a discounted ELD solution through our partnership with KeepTruckin. So, if you need an ELD refresher course before committing to a specific device, look at the helpful resources we’ve already published that offer you a road map into the new ELD reality.
Apex and KeepTruckin to the Rescue: A piece from June that details Apex’s partnership with ELD provider KeepTruckin. We spell out, in detail, who is exempt from the ELD mandate and clarify that most commercial motor vehicle drivers must have an electronic logging device to stay compliant with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
ELD Misconceptions? Apex Has Answers: Our clients have lots of questions, comments, and misconceptions about ELDs. Just like everyone else in the trucking industry. We listened to everything they had to say and addressed those frequently asked questions. We want to make sure the ELD transition is super smooth.
Our ELD White Paper Explains It All: The mother of all ELD white papers comprehensively explains it all – the history, the process, and the benefits. This is every owner-operator and trucking company’s all-encompassing guide to ensure you are ready for the trucking industry future with electronic logging devices.
